Give us access

Give us access to Judge.me reviews

How to grant us access to your Judge.me account so we can install review widgets, import reviews, and configure review request emails.

Judge.me collects and displays product reviews on Shopify stores. Access comes through your store: you open Judge.me from your store admin, so the access you give us for the store is normally the access we need for Judge.me.

Judge.me has shut down its WooCommerce, Square, Squarespace, BigCommerce, Duda and PrestaShop apps, so if your store is on one of those, tell us before we plan any review work.

Quick summary

Judge.me is opened from inside your store admin, so Shopify collaborator or staff access is normally all we need — as long as the Judge.me app is one of the apps our user is allowed to open.

Step-by-step instructions

The usual route: through your store

Grant store access. Follow give us Shopify collaborator access.

Include Judge.me in our app permissions. Shopify lets you choose which apps and channels a user can reach. If you pick specific apps, the user can only open those, so Judge.me has to be one of them. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Users → Roles (the Users page is labeled Users & permissions if your store isn't part of an organization), open the role we are on, scroll to the App permissions section and select Judge.me Reviews, then save. Worth remembering for later: if you install another app and want us to have it, you have to update your user role's App permissions again.

Confirm we can open it. We'll open Judge.me from your store admin and let you know in ClickUp that we're in.

If we still can't get in

Tell us in ClickUp and we'll say exactly what's missing — usually it's the app permission above. Judge.me's own help centre covers access and user permissions if you'd rather check it yourself.

Review emails go to real customers

Judge.me switches review-request emails on as soon as it is installed, set to send after an order is fulfilled. Before we change templates, timing, or which orders trigger a request, we'll confirm with you — these land in your customers' inboxes under your brand name.

Common questions

Do I own my reviews?

Yes. Reviews belong to your store, and Judge.me can export them to a CSV file. Videos aren't in that file, so download those separately. If you ever migrate to another review platform, export first — that file is the thing that's hard to recreate.

Can you import reviews from another platform or from AliExpress?

Judge.me imports reviews from a spreadsheet and has importers for several other review apps. Be careful with bulk-imported reviews that aren't from your real customers — beyond the trust problem, misrepresenting reviews can breach consumer-protection law, and Google's review snippet guidelines say not to include fake or undisclosed incentivised reviews on your page or in your markup. Google may take manual action against a site that breaks them.

Will review widgets slow my store down?

They add JavaScript and images to your product pages, so there's a real cost. If speed matters we'll measure before and after — see measuring your speed.

Do reviews show up in Google results?

They can. Review widgets can emit structured data, and when Google finds valid review or rating markup it may show a review snippet. Google is clear that it does not guarantee features built on structured data will appear. See how search engines work.
