Give us access to your PayPal account
How to safely add our team as a user in your PayPal Business account to configure website integrations and API keys.

If you use PayPal as a checkout option for your e-commerce store, we must connect it directly to your website's payment gateway. This requires us to access your PayPal Business account to generate API credentials.
Quick summary
Log in to your PayPal Business account and open Account Settings. Click Update next to Manage users, click Add user, and enter our details including support@chykalophia.com. Select only the privileges your project lead asked for, then finish. PayPal emails us to activate the login.
Step-by-step instructions
PayPal lets the primary account owner create secondary users, each with their own login, so you never have to share your primary login or risk exposing your linked bank accounts. Secondary users can't create or manage other users.
Business Account Required
You must have a PayPal Business account to add secondary users. Personal PayPal accounts don't have the Manage users feature.
Log in to PayPal. Go to paypal.com and sign in to your Business account.
Navigate to Account Settings. Open the settings (gear) icon and go to your Account Settings.
Go to Manage Users. Find Manage users and click Update next to it.
Enter our details. Fill in the information PayPal asks for. Use Chykalophia Support as the name and support@chykalophia.com as the email address, then continue to the next step.
Select privileges. PayPal now asks which account privileges this user should have. Tick only the ones your project lead asked for, and leave anything about sending or receiving money, issuing refunds, or viewing your bank details unticked. Then continue.
Save and finish. Finish creating the user. PayPal emails our team a link to activate the login and set a password.
API credentials are a separate step
Depending on how your store connects to PayPal, the API credentials or connection may be set up from the PayPal developer dashboard or through a "connect" flow in your store rather than from a secondary user login. Your project lead will tell you which one your setup needs.
Common questions
Will you be able to see my account balance or move money?
That's up to you. As the primary account owner you choose each privilege a secondary user gets, including whether they can view your balance. Leave the money-movement and balance privileges unticked and we can't use them.
I only have a Personal PayPal account. What should I do?
To process payments smoothly on a modern website, you'll want to upgrade to a Business account. Go to your PayPal settings and look for the option to upgrade to a Business account. Once upgraded, you will be able to follow the steps above.
