Give us WordPress admin access

How to safely add our team as an Administrator in your WordPress dashboard so we can build and maintain your site.

To design, develop, or optimize your WordPress website, our team needs Administrator access. This allows us to manage themes, install necessary plugins, update core files, and build out your page structures.

Quick summary

Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Users → Add New User. Enter support@chykalophia.com for the email, set the Role to Administrator, and click Add New User. We will receive an email with a link to set our own secure password.

Step-by-step instructions

Log in to your website. Go to your WordPress login page (usually yourwebsite.com/wp-admin) and sign in using your existing Administrator account.

Navigate to Users. In the menu down the left side of your dashboard, hover over Users and click Add New User.

Enter our team details. Fill out the form with the following information:

Username: Chykalophia
Email: support@chykalophia.com (Unless your project lead explicitly provided a different email address)
First/Last Name: You can leave these blank

Select the Administrator role. Scroll down to the Role dropdown menu. Click it and select Administrator. Note: If you select a lower role like Editor or Author, we will not be able to access the backend code or plugins required to build your site.

Send the notification. Leave the box that emails the new user about their account checked — current versions of WordPress label it Send User Notification. WordPress then emails us a link to set our own password, so you never have to create or share one.

Click Add New User. Click the Add New User button at the bottom to finalize the creation of the account.

Common questions

Why do you need Administrator access? Can I make you an Editor?

An Editor can publish and manage posts and pages, including other people's, and moderate comments. What an Editor cannot do is install or update plugins, switch or edit your theme, or open the site's settings screens. Those are Administrator-only in WordPress, and they are exactly what building the architecture of your site, configuring performance, adjusting SEO tools, and installing design frameworks (like Elementor) needs.

Is it safe to give you Administrator access?

Yes. Because you are creating a delegate account for us, you remain the primary owner. When our partnership concludes, you can go back to the Users menu and delete our account; WordPress asks you to confirm the deletion, and that is the end of our access. I don't see an 'Add New User' option under Users. What do I do?

If you can't see "Add New User", or if you don't even have a "Users" menu on the left side, it means your current account does not have Administrator privileges. You will need to reach out to whoever originally built or manages your site and ask them to either grant you Admin privileges or add us on your behalf.
