Professional WordPress websites run on premium themes and plugins (like Elementor Pro, WP Rocket, or Advanced Custom Fields). Each one needs an active license before it will keep delivering updates: Elementor, for example, says its license keys "are used to verify your purchase" and are "a vital part of getting help from the support team, and updates". If you bought these tools yourself, we need that license to activate them on your site.

How to share a license key securely
A premium license key is essentially a digital receipt that proves you own the software. If it falls into the wrong hands, others could use your license to activate their own websites, potentially maxing out your account limits.
Locate the license key. Log in to the website where you bought the plugin or theme and look for a section called "Licenses," "Subscriptions," or "API Keys." Copy the string of letters and numbers. Not every tool works this way — Elementor Pro, for instance, is activated by signing in to your Elementor account from WordPress rather than by pasting a key. If there's no key to copy, skip to the first question below.
Use a secure sharing tool. Go to a free, encrypted service like Onetime Secret.
Paste the key. Paste the license key into the secret content box and generate a secure link.
Send us the details. In your ClickUp task, tell us which plugin the key is for, and paste the secure link.

"Here is the license key for our WP Rocket subscription. Key: [Link to Onetime Secret]"
Common questions
Can I just give you the login to the plugin's website instead?
Yes! If you prefer not to copy and paste the keys yourself, you can securely share the login to the vendor's website (e.g., your Gravity Forms account login) using our guide on sharing passwords safely. We will log in, grab the key, and apply it to your site.
What if Chykalophia provided the premium plugins for my site?
If your contract includes The Boring Stuff or a Fractional retainer where we provide the premium plugin licenses, you don't need to do anything! Our team handles the licensing and activations behind the scenes.
What happens to the license if I cancel the plugin subscription?
It depends on the tool, so check the vendor's own terms. Usually what you have already built keeps working, but the plugin stops receiving security and feature updates — and some features stop too. Elementor, for example, lists an expired Pro license as one reason its Pro widgets can no longer be added to a page.
Running software that no longer gets security updates is a common way sites get broken into, so we recommend keeping your essential licenses active.
