Give us WooCommerce store access
How to safely grant us access to manage and optimize your online store without compromising sensitive customer payment data.

- Your WordPress admin login
WooCommerce is deeply integrated into your WordPress website. To help you optimize conversions, add new products, or troubleshoot the checkout experience, we need access to your WooCommerce dashboard.
Quick summary
Because WooCommerce lives inside WordPress, granting us store access simply requires giving us standard WordPress Administrator access. You do not need to create a separate login for WooCommerce itself.
How to grant us access
To give our team the ability to manage your WooCommerce settings, please follow our standard guide to give us WordPress admin access.
Once we have an Administrator account on your WordPress site, we will automatically have the necessary permissions to use the WooCommerce menu in your dashboard. WooCommerce gives every Administrator full access to store settings and reports.
What we can (and cannot) see
We understand that e-commerce data is highly sensitive. We only access the data required to do the work in scope — nothing more.
What we CAN see
- Store Settings: Shipping zones, tax configurations, and email notifications.
- Products: Inventory levels, descriptions, pricing, and variations.
- Order Data: Customer names, shipping addresses, and items ordered (this helps us troubleshoot failed orders).
- Analytics: Sales trends, order counts, and average order value.
What we CANNOT see
- Full Credit Card Numbers: WooCommerce's own documentation is blunt about this: your customer's card number and security code are never stored on your website. The payment gateway passes them straight to the payment processor. If customers save a card for next time, all your site keeps is a token plus the last four digits, the card brand, and the expiry date.
- Your Payout Bank Account: Where your card takings get paid out is set in your payment provider's dashboard, not in WooCommerce. One exception: if your store offers Direct Bank Transfer, the account details you publish for customers do sit in WooCommerce's payment settings — but those are already printed on your order emails.
Common questions
Can I give you a 'Shop Manager' role instead of Administrator?
A Shop Manager can do more than most people expect: WooCommerce gives that role full access to store settings, products, orders, coupons and customer records, plus the same content editing an Editor gets. What it cannot do is install or update plugins, update WordPress itself, or change your theme and templates — and that is most of what design and build work needs. So we ask for the Administrator role.
Do you also need access to my Stripe or PayPal account?
Usually, yes. If we are setting up your store for the first time or troubleshooting a payment gateway issue, we will need delegate access to your payment processor. We will request this separately. See our guide on Stripe access for more details.
