If your domain name is registered with GoDaddy, or if you use them for website hosting, we will need access to configure your DNS records and point your domain to your new or optimized website.
Quick summary
GoDaddy has a built-in feature called Delegate Access. Open your Delegate Access page (account.godaddy.com/access), and in the "People who can access my account" section select Invite to Access. Enter our name and support@chykalophia.com, choose the Products & Domains access level, and select Invite.
Step-by-step instructions
Using GoDaddy's Delegate Access is the safest way to collaborate because you never have to share your master password or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) codes with our team.
Log in to GoDaddy. Go to GoDaddy.com and sign in to your account.
Open your Delegate Access page. Go to account.godaddy.com/access. You might be prompted to sign in.
Select Invite to Access. In the "People who can access my account" section, select Invite to Access.
Enter our details. Fill out the form with:
- Name: Chykalophia Support
- Email: support@chykalophia.com
Choose the access level. Select Products & Domains. That lets us open your products and their control panels, without the Products, Domains, & Purchase level's ability to buy things with your stored payment method.
Select Invite. GoDaddy emails us the invitation, and lets you know once we've accepted it. We then connect it securely to our agency account. An invitation nobody accepts expires on its own.
Common questions
Can you buy domains or hosting using my credit card with this access?
No. Buying things on your behalf is what the separate Products, Domains, & Purchase level is for, and "Products & Domains" doesn't include it. GoDaddy also blocks some things for every delegate, whatever level you pick: a delegate can't manage or add payment methods on your account, can't view your order history, can't see or change your password or Support PIN, and can't invite anyone else into your account.
Can you transfer my domain name away to someone else?
That depends on the domain permissions you set, so it is worth a minute of your time. GoDaddy splits domain permissions into Management Access (contact info, nameservers, hostnames, forwarding, locking, auto-renew, subdomains) and Transfer Access. Transfer Access is the powerful one: GoDaddy says delegates with it can "Initiate domain transfers to another GoDaddy account", "Initiate domain transfers to another registrar", "Delete domains" and "List a domain for sale".
A delegate given domain access starts with Management Access on the All Domains folder. If you only want us pointing DNS and touching nameservers, leave Transfer Access switched off. You can set this per folder from your Domain Portfolio: open the Folders icon, choose the folder, select Edit Folder, and toggle the two permissions.
Whatever you grant, you stay the account owner, and no delegate can accept an incoming domain transfer from another registrar or GoDaddy account.
How do I remove your access when we're done?
Go back to account.godaddy.com/access. In the "People who can access my account" section, select Edit next to our name, then select Delete underneath the Save button.
