Give us access to your domain registrar
A general guide on how to safely grant us access to your domain name so we can point it to your new digital presence.
Your domain registrar is the company where you bought your website's URL (e.g., Google Domains, Network Solutions, Hover, etc.). To connect your custom domain to the new website we are building or optimizing, we need access to manage your DNS records.
Quick summary
Always check if your registrar offers a "Delegate Access," "Share Access," or "Add Collaborator" feature so you can invite support@chykalophia.com. If they do not, you will need to securely share your primary password using a self-destructing link.
Option A: Delegate Access (Highly Recommended)
Beginner 5 minutesMost modern registrars allow you to invite a developer to manage your domain without giving them your personal password.
Log in to your registrar. Sign in to the company where you purchased your domain.
Look for Account Settings or Users. Hunt for menus labeled "Account Settings," "User Management," "Delegate Access," or "Share Access."
Invite our team. If you find an invitation feature, enter support@chykalophia.com and grant us permission to manage DNS or Domains.
Let us know. Drop a note in ClickUp to let us know the invitation was sent!
(Note: We have specific guides for GoDaddy and Namecheap if you use those platforms).
Option B: Sharing your password securely
If your registrar is older or lacks delegation features, we will need your main login credentials to make the necessary DNS changes.
Security Warning
Never email your domain password in plain text. Your domain name is one of your most valuable business assets.
To securely share your login:
- Go to a free, encrypted tool like One-Time Secret.
- Paste only your password into the box and generate a secure link.
- In ClickUp, send us the Login URL, your Username, and the secure One-Time Secret link.
