Learn how to use the ClickUp mobile app to stay on top of your project from anywhere.

The ClickUp mobile app lets you check on tasks, leave comments, approve work, and stay in the loop — all from your phone. You don't need to be at your desk to keep your project moving.

Quick summary

Download the ClickUp app for iOS or Android, sign in with your existing account, and you'll see the same tasks and comments as on your computer. The mobile app is great for quick approvals, checking task status, and responding to @mentions on the go.

What you'll need

A smartphone (iPhone or Android)
Your ClickUp login details (the same ones you use on the website)
The ClickUp app (free to download)

Downloading and signing in

Open the App Store on your iPhone.

Search for "ClickUp" and tap the official app, ClickUp: Tasks, Chat, Docs, AI.

Download it. The app is free.

Open the app once it has downloaded.

Sign in the same way you do on the ClickUp website. If you have trouble, tap Other Sign In Options at the bottom of the screen to try another method.

Turn on notifications. If the app asks, allow them. This ensures you don't miss @mentions or task updates.

Navigating the mobile app

The mobile app has a simplified layout compared to the desktop version. Here's what you'll find:

Home	Your main page on mobile: track tasks and reminders, reply to comments, and get to the rest of your work. You can choose which page the app opens on
Inbox	Your notifications, including @mentions, comments, and task updates
Sidebar	Swipe right from the left side of the screen to open the sidebar and browse your folders, lists and tasks
Search	Find tasks, messages, Docs, and more
Profile	Tap your avatar in the upper-right corner to reach your profile and account options

Most of what you'll do as a client — reviewing tasks, leaving comments, approving work — is easy to do on mobile.

Reviewing and approving work on your phone

Open your Inbox. Tap the Inbox icon at the bottom of the app to see what needs your attention.

Open the task. Tap a notification to see it in full, or find the task from Home.

Read the description and comments. A task has two tabs: Details shows the description and task information, and Activity shows comments and the task's history.

Leave a reply. On the Activity tab, type in the comment box at the bottom, then tap the send icon.

Update the status by tapping the task's current status, just under the task name on the Details tab. Choose Approved or Changes Requested as appropriate, if your access allows it.

Setting up mobile notifications

Make sure notifications are allowed for ClickUp on your phone. We recommend turning them on — this is the best way to know when we've tagged you or when something needs your attention.

iPhone: open Settings, tap Apps, then ClickUp, then Notifications, and turn on Allow Notifications.
Android: open your phone's settings, go to Apps, tap ClickUp, and make sure notifications are allowed.

You choose which notifications reach your phone on the ClickUp website or desktop app, not in the phone app: open your notification settings and use the Mobile dropdown. See Managing your ClickUp notifications for a full guide.

Save your battery

If ClickUp push notifications feel too frequent, you don't need to turn them all off. In your notification settings on the website, set Mobile to Custom and keep only what matters, such as comments you're @mentioned in and tasks assigned to you. Turning on Smart Notifications also stops phone notifications while you're active in ClickUp on your computer.

Attaching a photo from your phone

One handy feature on mobile: you can take a photo and attach it to a task in seconds. This is useful for sharing a photo of something at your office, a printed mockup, or a reference image.

Open the task you want to attach a file to, and tap the Activity tab.

Tap the plus icon in the comment box.

Choose your camera or your photos. Take a new photo or select one from your gallery.

Add a comment explaining what the photo shows, then tap the send icon.

Tips for using ClickUp on the go

Use the Inbox as your daily starting point — it shows your notifications in one place.
Keep your Inbox tidy. Opening a notification marks it as read, and swiping all the way left on a notification clears it.
Use search to find a specific task quickly by typing a keyword from its title.
Tap your avatar in the upper-right corner to open your profile and account options. To switch workspaces if you belong to more than one, swipe right to open the sidebar, tap your workspace name in the upper-left corner, and pick the workspace you want.

Common questions

The app looks different from what's described here — is that normal?

ClickUp updates its app regularly. The exact layout may vary slightly depending on your version. The core features (inbox, tasks, comments, status) are all in the app. If something is missing, check the App Store or Play Store for updates.

I'm not receiving push notifications even though I allowed them — what do I check?

First, check your phone's system settings: go to your phone's Settings app, find ClickUp in the app list, and make sure notifications are enabled there. Also check that Do Not Disturb (or, on iPhone, another Focus) isn't on. Then check your ClickUp notification settings on the website or desktop app: make sure Mobile isn't set to Disable notifications and that notifications aren't muted. With Smart Notifications on, your phone stays quiet while you're active in ClickUp on a computer.

Can I create new tasks from my phone?

Yes, if you have full edit access where the task will go. Tap the plus icon at the bottom of Home, your Inbox, or My Tasks, then choose Task. See How to submit a new request for guidance on what to include.

Does the mobile app work without an internet connection?

Partly. ClickUp's Offline Mode works in the mobile app: you can view tasks you've already opened, and create new tasks, which sync when you reconnect. You can't edit tasks while offline, and you'll need a connection to see new activity.
