Working with us on Fractional Plus
What to expect from Fractional Plus, Chykalophia's fractional CTO, CMO and brand leadership retainer with the in-house team behind it to execute.
Fractional Plus gives you a senior executive in the seat you're missing, for technology, growth or brand, plus our in-house team to carry out the plan. It's a monthly retainer rather than a project. This guide explains the seats, how the retainer is scoped, how a typical month runs and the terms you should know about.
Who it's for
Founders and operators carrying an executive decision they shouldn't have to: a product to ship, a pipeline to build, or a brand that isn't strong enough for where the business is headed, with no senior partner in the room.
If you're new to the idea of fractional leadership, read What a fractional CTO or CMO does, and when it beats hiring first. It covers when fractional makes sense in general, and when a full-time hire is better.
The seats
- Fractional CTO: technology leadership. Owns your roadmap, stack, team and delivery: goals set and actually implemented, compliance and risk handled before they become fires. Typical work includes technology strategy, architecture decisions, vendor selection, build oversight and security posture.
- Fractional CMO: growth leadership. Owns demand, pipeline and conversion: positioning, channels, funnel and the testing that lifts the number, with the marketing team to run it day to day.
- Fractional CBO: brand leadership. Led by Ari Krzyzek, a certified brand strategist. Owns identity, voice and experience so the brand gets more recognized, consistent and persuasive over time.
Many engagements span two seats, for example brand plus growth, with one team behind them. If you're not sure which you need, tell us the bottleneck on a fit call and we'll point you to the right mix.

Which seat do you need?
What makes it different
Most fractional executives work alone. They hand you a plan, and you still need someone to do the work. Fractional Plus pairs the leader with the people who execute:
- The executive owns the direction: strategy, goals and team direction, held to the number that matters.
- The team owns the execution: design, engineering and growth from the same senior in-house team.
- One partner, one outcome: no coordinating a lone advisor against a separate agency.
If a job needs skills we don't have in-house, we tell you and find a solution together.
How it works
Name the bottleneck. Tell us which seat you're missing: tech, growth or brand. Often it's a blend.
Scope the retainer. A monthly engagement sized to your stage, set around responsibility, availability and the outcomes that matter most.
Lead and ship, monthly. Your fractional executive runs the cadence and owns the number. The team executes against it, month over month.
Terms worth knowing
From the Fractional Plus offer page:
- No equity, no options, and no headcount on your cap table.
- Minimum engagement is three months.
- 30 days' written notice to wind down.
- Work beyond scope is quoted as a separate, fixed-scope project.
- You can scale up or down, adjusting the seats and scope as the business changes.
From Our services and pricing:
- A published starting price, with pricing for your seats and scope confirmed on a fit call.
- Retainers are paid in full in advance, monthly, quarterly or yearly.
Your contract is what governs. If anything here differs from your agreement, the agreement wins.
What we need from you
A fractional leader can only lead with real access and authority.
- Access to your team, data and tools, not just summaries. The Access directory covers most systems.
- Authority to make the calls within the agreed scope, and a clear line to you for the ones that are yours.
- Time for the regular cadence your fractional executive sets, including reviews against the agreed numbers.
- Honest information, especially about what isn't working.
How you'll know it's working
At the start, agree two or three outcomes the seat is responsible for. Review them regularly. If progress stalls, raise it early: the retainer can be re-scoped as the business changes. How we communicate covers where those conversations happen.
