Webflow plans & billing explained
A plain-English guide to Webflow's pricing plans, what each includes, how billing works, and how to manage your subscription.
Understanding your Webflow plan and billing setup helps you stay in control of your website costs. This guide explains how Webflow's plans work and what to do if you need to make changes.
Quick summary
Webflow charges a monthly or annual fee for hosting your site (a Site plan). If you use the CMS or Ecommerce features, you'll need the appropriate plan tier. Billing is managed in your Webflow account settings. Chykalophia will have discussed the right plan for your site during your project.
Types of Webflow plans
Webflow has two types of plans: Workspace plans and Site plans.
Workspace plans are for people who design sites in Webflow. Designers and developers (like Chykalophia) use these. You probably don't have one.
Site plans are for hosting a live website. This is what keeps your site accessible to the world. You may have one of these, or Chykalophia may manage it on your behalf.
Site plan tiers
Webflow's site plans are generally tiered as follows (names and prices change — check webflow.com/pricing for current information):
| Plan | Best for |
|---|---|
| Basic | Simple sites with no CMS, low traffic |
| CMS | Sites with a blog, portfolio, or dynamic content |
| Business | Higher-traffic sites needing more bandwidth and CMS capacity |
| Ecommerce (Basic/Plus/Advanced) | Online stores — tier depends on sales volume and features |
Most Chykalophia client sites use the CMS plan or higher.
Annual vs monthly billing
Webflow plans can be paid monthly or annually. Annual billing is typically discounted (around 30% cheaper than monthly). If you're committed to Webflow long-term, annual billing saves money.
Who manages billing?
This varies by project. In some cases:
- You manage billing directly — you have your credit card on file with Webflow and receive invoices from them.
- Chykalophia manages billing — we pay Webflow and invoice you separately as part of a hosting or retainer arrangement.
Your project lead will have confirmed which arrangement applies to you.
How to view or update billing
If you manage billing directly with Webflow:
Log in to webflow.com.
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
Go to Account Settings → Billing. You'll see your active plans, payment method, and invoice history.
Update your credit card or download invoices from this page.
What happens if payment fails
If your payment method fails, Webflow will attempt to retry. After a period of failed retries, the site plan may be downgraded or the site may go offline.
Keep your payment details up to date. If your site goes offline unexpectedly, check your billing status first.
Upgrading or downgrading your plan
You can upgrade your site plan at any time — the change is prorated and takes effect immediately. Downgrading is also possible, but be aware that some features (like extra CMS items) may not be available on lower plans.
Contact Chykalophia before changing plans to make sure the change won't affect your site's functionality.
