Webflow hosting explained
How Webflow's built-in hosting works, what it includes, and how it compares to traditional web hosting.
Webflow hosting is different from traditional web hosting. Instead of choosing a separate hosting company, Webflow handles everything directly. This guide explains what that means for you.
Quick summary
Webflow hosts your site on its own infrastructure — you don't need a separate hosting company. Hosting is included in your Webflow site plan. It includes SSL, a global CDN, automatic backups, and fast page loads. You pay Webflow directly for hosting.
How Webflow hosting works
Traditional websites (like WordPress sites) are stored on a web server run by a separate hosting company (like Flywheel, WP Engine, or SiteGround). You pay that hosting company, and they run the server that delivers your site.
Webflow is different. Webflow hosts your site directly on its own infrastructure — the same company that provides the design tool also hosts the website. You don't need to find or pay a separate hosting company.
What Webflow hosting includes
A Webflow site plan includes:
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Hosting | Fully managed — no server setup required |
| SSL / HTTPS | Automatic, free, and renewed automatically |
| Global CDN | Your site loads fast worldwide |
| Automatic backups | Webflow stores version history |
| DDoS protection | Built into the platform |
| 99.99% uptime target | Enterprise-grade reliability |
| Custom domain | Connect your own domain name |
| Bandwidth | Included (limits vary by plan) |
Webflow hosting plans
Webflow has several site plans that include hosting. Plans are tiered by features:
- Basic — for simple, non-CMS sites with limited pages
- CMS — for sites using the CMS (blog, portfolio, team pages, etc.)
- Business — for higher-traffic sites needing more bandwidth and CMS items
- Enterprise — for large organizations with specific requirements
Chykalophia will advise you on the right plan for your site. Plan pricing and feature limits change occasionally — check webflow.com/pricing for current information.
Workspace plans vs Site plans
Webflow has two types of plans: Workspace plans (for the design tool) and Site plans (for hosting). Most clients only need to be aware of Site plans — these are what keep your site live on the internet.
Who pays for Webflow hosting?
This varies by project. In some cases, Chykalophia includes hosting management in a retainer. In others, the client sets up billing directly with Webflow. Your project lead will have confirmed this with you during the project.

What happens if hosting lapses?
If a Webflow site plan expires (because a payment fails or a subscription is cancelled), the site will be taken offline. Visitors will see an error page.
We recommend setting up auto-renewal and keeping your billing details up to date. See Webflow plans & billing explained.
