How to edit pages
How to create and edit pages in Shopify — including your About, Contact, and any other static pages on your store.
Shopify lets you create and edit static pages — like your About Us, Contact, FAQ, or Shipping Policy pages. These are different from your product pages, which Shopify manages automatically. This guide covers how to find, edit, and create pages in the Shopify admin.
Quick summary
Go to Online Store > Pages in your Shopify admin to see all your store pages. Click any page to edit its title and content. Use the rich text editor to add text, links, and headings. Click Save when you are done.

How to edit an existing page
Go to Online Store > Pages in the left-hand menu.
Click the page you want to edit (e.g. "About Us").
Edit the title at the top if needed.
Edit the content in the editor below. You can type directly, add formatting (bold, italic, headings, bullet lists), and insert links.
Click Save in the top-right corner. Your changes are live immediately.
How to create a new page
Go to Online Store > Pages and click Add page.
Enter a title for the page (e.g. "Our Story").
Write your content in the editor.
Set the page visibility. On the right side, under Visibility, choose Visible to publish it immediately or Hidden to save it as a draft.
Click Save.
Add the page to your navigation if you want customers to find it. Go to Online Store > Navigation, open the relevant menu, and add a link to your new page. See Organizing products into collections — the navigation steps there apply here too.
Using the page editor
The Shopify page editor is a basic rich text editor. Here is what the toolbar lets you do:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| B (Bold) | Makes selected text bold |
| I (Italic) | Makes selected text italic |
| Heading dropdown | Changes text to a heading (H1, H2, H3) |
| Link button | Adds a hyperlink |
| Image button | Inserts an image |
| Bullet/Number list | Creates a list |
| Align buttons | Left, center, or right alignment |
| HTML button | Switch to raw HTML view |
Shopify pages have limited design options
Pages in Shopify use a simple text editor. If you need a page with custom layouts, columns, or design elements (like a styled About page with photos), that is done in the theme editor or with a page builder app — not in this editor. Ask us if you need a more designed page.
Editing your privacy, refund, and shipping policy pages
Shopify has dedicated fields for your legal policy pages (Refund policy, Privacy policy, Terms of service, Shipping policy). These are separate from the regular Pages section.
To edit them:
Go to Settings > Policies in your Shopify admin.
Click the policy you want to edit. Shopify provides a template you can customize.
Edit the text and click Save.
The URL of a page
Shopify generates a URL for each page automatically based on the title. For example, a page titled "Our Story" gets the URL /pages/our-story. You can customize this in the Search engine listing section at the bottom of the page editor.
