Logging in to WP Engine
Step-by-step instructions for logging in to the WP Engine User Portal and accessing your WordPress site.

The WP Engine User Portal is your control center for managing your WordPress hosting. Here's how to access it and navigate to your site.
Quick summary
Log in to the WP Engine User Portal at my.wpengine.com using your email and password. From there, find your site under "Sites" and click through to manage it. You can also access WordPress admin directly from the portal.
What you'll need

How to log in
Go to the WP Engine User Portal. Open your browser and navigate to my.wpengine.com.
Enter your email and password. These are the credentials for your WP Engine account. If your company uses single sign-on, you'll be sent to your company's own sign-in page instead.
Finish signing in. If WP Engine asks you to verify it's you (see two-factor authentication below), complete that step. You'll then land in the User Portal.
Find your site. Click Sites in the main menu to see every site you have access to.
Click your site name. This opens the Overview page for the site's Production (live) environment.
If you've forgotten your password
Go to the login page at my.wpengine.com.
Click "Need help signing in?", then choose Forgot password?
Enter your email address and click Reset via Email.
Check your email for a password reset link. Follow it to create a new password. The link only works for a few hours, so if it has expired, start again. No email? Check your spam folder.
Accessing WordPress admin from WP Engine
From the site overview in the User Portal:
Open the site's Overview page by clicking its name on the Sites page.
Find the WP Admin link. It's in the row of buttons at the top of the environment's Overview page, alongside Create a backup and Clear all caches.
Click the link to open your WordPress dashboard. If the account owner has turned on WP Engine's Seamless Login, you're logged in automatically. Otherwise, you may need to enter your WordPress credentials.
Two-factor authentication
WP Engine supports two-factor authentication for added security. It calls this multi-factor authentication (MFA). After you enter your password, WP Engine may ask you to verify it's you, for example when you sign in from a new device or location.
Email codes are switched on by default. You can also add an authenticator app or Okta Verify push notifications, and WP Engine lists security keys and biometric logins among its supported options too. To set these up, click the profile icon at the top right of the User Portal and choose Multi-factor authentication. WP Engine suggests setting up more than one method, so losing one device doesn't lock you out.

Access as an invited user
If someone (us or your team) has added you as a user on a WP Engine account, you'll receive an email asking you to activate your account. Click the link in that email to set your password and access the portal. Until you've done this, the password reset won't work for you.

I wasn't invited — can I get access?
If you should have been invited and weren't, contact either the account owner or us and we'll add you.
What's the difference between a WP Engine account login and a WordPress login?
Your WP Engine login accesses the hosting control panel (User Portal). Your WordPress login accesses the site's content management system. They're separate credentials. One account can manage many WordPress sites.
Can I log in to WordPress directly without going through WP Engine?
Yes. You can log in to WordPress directly by going to yourdomain.com/wp-admin and entering your WordPress username and password. The WP Engine portal is just a convenient shortcut.
