Step-by-step instructions for logging in to your Flywheel hosting account and accessing your WordPress site.

Logging in to Flywheel gives you access to your hosting dashboard, where you can view your site's status, manage backups, and access your staging environment. Here's how to do it.

Quick summary

Go to app.getflywheel.com and sign in with the email address and password for your Flywheel account. The sign-in page shows the WP Engine logo, because WP Engine is Flywheel's parent company. From there, click your site name to open the site dashboard. If you've forgotten your password, use the password help link on the sign-in page.

What you'll need

A Flywheel account (either your own, or one where you've been added as a collaborator)
Your email address and password for that account
Your phone or authenticator app, if you've turned on multi-factor authentication

How to log in

Go to the Flywheel login page. Open your browser and navigate to app.getflywheel.com. Flywheel now uses WP Engine's sign-in system, so the page carries the WP Engine logo. You're in the right place.

Enter your email and password. Use the email address on your Flywheel profile, and your Flywheel password.

Sign in. If you've set up multi-factor authentication, you may be asked for a verification code, usually when you sign in from a new device or location. You'll land on your Flywheel dashboard, which lists all the sites you own or collaborate on.

Click the name of your site. This opens the individual site dashboard for that WordPress installation.

If you've forgotten your password

Go to the Flywheel login page at app.getflywheel.com.

Click the password help link on the sign-in page. Depending on the screen you land on, it reads either "Need help signing in?" or "Forget your password?".

Enter your email address and follow the prompts. Use the email address on your Flywheel profile — a reset sent to any other address won't reach you.

Check your email. You'll receive a link to set a new password. Follow that link and choose a strong password. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

Logging in to WordPress from Flywheel

Flywheel provides a quick shortcut to your WordPress admin panel. From within a site's dashboard:

Open the site dashboard by clicking your site name.

Click the WP Admin button. It's available on every page of your site's dashboard.

Click through and you'll usually be taken straight to your WordPress dashboard, without entering your WordPress credentials. Flywheel's Seamless Login signs you in using the email address on your Flywheel account, and creates a WordPress user with that email if none exists. If it can't sign you in, you'll see the normal WordPress login screen.

Access as a collaborator

If Chykalophia set up your Flywheel account and added you as a collaborator, you'll receive an invitation email. Follow the link in that email to accept. You'll need your own Flywheel login (Flywheel accounts are free). Once you've accepted, log in at app.getflywheel.com and the site appears on your dashboard.

Common questions

I didn't get an invitation email — what should I do?

Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, contact us and we'll resend the invitation or verify your access level.

I can see the Flywheel dashboard but not my site — what's wrong?

A site only appears for its owner, for collaborators added to that specific site, and for members of the organization that owns it. You may be signed in with a different Flywheel account from the one that was invited, or you may not have been added to that site yet. Let us know and we'll adjust your permissions.

No. Google single sign-on is no longer supported for the Flywheel app, and no other social login is offered. Sign in with your email address and password. If you used to sign in with Google, use the password help link on the sign-in page to set a password first. For extra security, you can turn on multi-factor authentication: on your Flywheel Account page, click Update in WP Engine, then choose Multi-factor authentication from the profile menu.

What if I have multiple sites on Flywheel?

All your sites appear on the main dashboard after you log in. Click each site name to manage it individually.
