Copying & pasting styles in Elementor
Learn how to copy the visual style from one element and apply it to another using Elementor's Copy Style and Paste Style features.
When two elements on your page should look the same — same font, same color, same border — you do not have to set each one up from scratch. Elementor lets you copy the style from one element and paste it onto another.
Quick summary
Right-click any element and choose "Copy Style." Then right-click the element you want to restyle and choose "Paste Style." The visual appearance (colors, fonts, spacing, etc.) transfers instantly. The content stays the same.

How to copy and paste a style
Find the element with the style you want to copy. This could be a button, a heading, a section background — anything with visual settings applied.
Right-click the element. A context menu appears.
Click "Copy Style." The style settings are copied to your clipboard.
Navigate to the element you want to restyle. This can be on the same page or a different page in Elementor.
Right-click the target element.
Click "Paste Style." The style is applied instantly.
Check the result and make any fine adjustments you need.
Publish your changes.
What gets copied — and what does not
Copy Style transfers only the visual appearance. It does not change the element's content.
| What IS copied | What is NOT copied |
|---|---|
| Background color | Text content |
| Border and border radius | Image source |
| Box shadow | Link URL |
| Typography (font, size, weight) | Button label |
| Padding and margin | Widget-specific data |
| Opacity and overlay settings |
This means you can safely paste a style onto an existing element without losing any of its words, links, or images.
Practical uses for Copy Style
Copy Style is especially useful when:
- You have several buttons that should all look the same but were set up individually
- You want a new section to match the color scheme of an existing one
- You added a new heading and want it to match the style of an existing heading widget
Copy Style across pages
You can copy a style from one page and paste it onto an element on a different page:
On the source page, right-click the element and choose Copy Style.
Open the target page in Elementor (in the same browser tab — don't open a new tab, as the clipboard may not persist).
Right-click the target element and choose Paste Style.
Clipboard may not survive a page load
The copy style data is stored temporarily in your browser. If you reload or navigate away, it may be lost. Copy and paste in a single session for best results.
Resetting a style you pasted
If you paste a style and don't like the result, press Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z to undo. This removes the pasted style and restores the element to its previous appearance.
