Accessing email on the web

How to log in to your business email from any web browser, without installing an app.

Webmail is a way to access your email directly in a web browser — no app installation required. It works on any computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection. This guide shows you where to go and how to log in.

Quick summary

Open a web browser and go to the webmail address for your email platform. For Google Workspace, that's Gmail at mail.google.com. For Microsoft 365, it's Outlook on the web at outlook.office.com. Sign in with your full business email address and password.

What you'll need

Beginner 2 minutes
  • Your business email address (e.g., jane@yourbusiness.com)
  • Your email password
  • A web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — any works)
  • An internet connection

Logging in to Google Workspace (Gmail)

Open a web browser and go to mail.google.com.

Enter your full business email address (e.g., jane@yourbusiness.com) and click Next.

Enter your password and click Next again.

Complete two-factor verification if you have it enabled — enter the code from your phone or authentication app.

You're in. Your inbox opens. It looks like regular Gmail, but it's your business account.

Make sure you're signing in to the right account

If you already use Gmail personally, you might be signed in as the wrong account. Look for your name or profile picture in the top-right corner. If it shows your personal account, click it and choose your business account, or open a private/incognito browser window.

Logging in to Microsoft 365 (Outlook on the web)

Open a web browser and go to outlook.office.com or office.com.

Enter your full business email address and click Next.

Enter your password. You may be redirected to your organization's login page — this is normal.

Complete multi-factor authentication if prompted (a code sent to your phone, or an authenticator app).

Your inbox opens. Outlook on the web works like the desktop app, but runs entirely in the browser.

Bookmarking your webmail

Save the webmail address as a bookmark in your browser so you can get back quickly.

Some Google Workspace accounts have a custom login URL. If your IT admin or Chykalophia has told you a specific address, use that one.

Tips for using webmail safely

  • Log out when using a shared computer. On a public or shared device, always sign out after your session rather than just closing the browser tab.
  • Don't save your password in a browser you share with others.
  • Look for the padlock in your browser's address bar — it confirms you're on a secure (HTTPS) connection.
